For our Getzoo light dwarf hamster food, we based ourselves on the complete menu of nature. Only seeds and plant parts that are present in the natural habitat or similar to the plant world of the steppes were selected.
With nature as a model
In nature, dwarf hamsters feed mainly on seeds and only a few other plant parts. The basis of the dwarf hamster's diet is flour-containing grass seeds, which we cover extensively in the diet with ryegrass, red fescue, bentgrass, timothy, meadow panicle and meadow fescue. Many types of millet, which are mild grasses and have a long history in Asia, form the basis of the Getzoo light dwarf hamster food together with the grasses. But important oil seeds should not be missing from the menu in a balanced proportion, such as thistle or nettle seeds. In addition to the many seeds, high-quality plant parts such as wild herbs, flowers and leaves are also mixed in for more variety.

With a healthy protein content for a balanced diet
For dwarf hamsters, a balanced protein level in the diet is essential to have sufficient energy. In the Getzoo light dwarf hamster food, we have deliberately avoided proteins, which have too high a carbohydrate content. The high-quality protein supplier Gammarus (freshwater shrimp) is used in the food.

Unfortunately, some species of dwarf hamsters and hybrids (mixed species) are prone to diabetes. That is why Getzoo light dwarf hamster food does not contain unnecessary additional carbohydrates and uses ingredients that have a positive effect on sugar levels.
